Springing into Action – Flowers and Fences
Projects between guests are always a combination of what we have to do, and what we’d like to do! This week we saw our first snow of the winter, which slightly held up our main project this season, refencing the garden.
All the snow had disappeared within 24 hours, so we (John!) were able to carry on. Spring bulbs and flowers are already pushing through!
The previous owner, Mme Willers, planted laurels by the garden gate. After almost 30 years, these ‘shrubs’ were almost 2 metres deep, and helping to pull down the old fence. We decided to cut them back really hard. Every French bricoleur worth his salt has a chainsaw, John’s no exception. Ta dah!
